- Slice flank steaks into wide strips about 1 1/3 inches (3.4 cm). Mix soy sauce, sugar, Hawaiian salt, garlic, ginger and chili pepper in a bowl. Coat steaks with the sauce and marinate overnight.
- Place marinated steaks in your dehydrator and dehydrate at 160°F (71°C) for 6 hours.
- Store dried steak jerky in the refrigerator.
