Mac and Cheese with Ham | Commercial Dehydrators

This delicious Mac and Cheese with Ham is a delicious meal or side dish perfect for your dinner parties. Make it as a meal or serve with a side of fresh vegetables as an appetizer. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser! Its also a great quick and easy camping dish.

Ingredients
  • 2 & 1/2 cup pre-cooked & dried macaroni noodles
  • 2/3 cup dried ham  
  • 1 tablespoon powdered butter (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered milk (optional)
  • 1 powdered cheese packet or 6 tablespoons cheese
  • powder
  • Combine the following in a separate snack-size bag:
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (dry)

  • Combine the following in a separate snack-size bag:

Instructions
  1. Slice  your  ham  thinly  into  strips  and  dehydrate  the strips at 160°F (71°C) for 6 hours.  
  2. Pre-cook  about  one  box  of  macaroni  noodles  and dehydrate.  
  3. Combine  the  dehydrated  noodles  and  ham  in  a  plastic bag.  
  4. Pack breadcrumbs, oil, and parmesan cheese separately in a snack-size bag.  
  5. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a plastic bag.
TO REHYDRATE
  1. Boil about 3 cups of water and transfer into a bowl. Add the  dried  macaroni  and  ham.  Ensure  the  water  is  just above the meal.  
  2. Allow  sitting  in  a  cozy  for  15  minutes  until  it's  well-rehydrated.    Drain  any  excess  liquid  and  pour  the noodles and ham back into the bag.  
  3. Heat  about  6  tablespoons  of  water  and  stir  in  butter, milk, and cheese powders to make the cheese sauce.  
  4. Mix  the  cheese  sauce  with  the  noodles.  Drizzle  oil  over the  mixture  or  add  butter  if  you  desire.  Top  your  meal with the breadcrumb-parmesan mix.
